Fantastic location, very close to lots of relaxed nightlife locations, bars, restaurants, many away from the the touristy thoroughfares.
Top Tip
Make sure to check the menu for the price of alcoholic drinks, otherwise you could get completely fleeced for sitting outside a bar for a beer....going down some of the off the beaten track areas can save you lots of euros and give you a more authentic experience.

Very very nice hotel - rooms weren't huge but by all accounts not many are in Paris. Breakfast was awesome, and rooms were clean and warm, and bathrooms were exceptional
Top Tip
Buy a Metro/RER train pass for the length of your stay. Two days costs us €30 for two people, but was well worth it

the hotel is directly opposite the bastille opera house - which is being done up at the moment and it felt a bit like a building site! also i sort of expected it to be on some sort of side street - it was on a really busy main road, but the double glazing gave excellent sound proofing so it wasn't a problem beyond the slight initial disappointment.
the mini bar was absolutely excellent - really nice wine and a good selection of drinks and snacks at the same price or even less than they would be in a bar or shop.
Top Tip
taxi from gare du nord was less than a tenner - felt like good value to and from the hotel when we were carrying bags.

Nicely refurbished. Smallish but very comfortable room. Surprisingly quiet. Very handy for numerous bars and restaurants.

Excellent local area with lots of pubs and bars within a short walk. Off the main tourist trail of Notre Dame with a pleasant Parisian feel.
